The Installation Process

Being a StoneWorks installer doesn't happen overnight. Employees start out as helpers where they spend a minimum of four years learning the trade. The reason is simple, it will be the final installation that defines the quality of your project. At StoneWorks, we never use subcontractors to install countertops. No matter how well a job is fabricated, if installed improperly, the results can be disastrous.

Our installation teams are friendly, knowledgeable, and always take special precautions in order to protect your home.

Our installers use advanced seam setting equipment that applies vacuum suction to pull two counters together as tightly and even as possible. The adhesive used in the joint is a true epoxy adhesive, rather than commonly used quick setting polyesters. The difference can be seen about two years after an installation or as settling occurrs. Epoxy creates a much stronger bond with the stone than a polyester can. Our installers are extremely proud of the quality of their seams. The invisible seam is something they are always in pursuit of. On many stones, our seams are almost impossible to see.

100% silicone caulking is used to caulk in areas between stone tops and backsplashes. The silicone will resist mold / mildew as well as remain intact long after latex caulks will.
Chemical epoxy shims are injected underneath tops in any areas that need additional support. This is especially important in weak areas like along the front of the sink cutout. A slight gap here between the stone and the cabinet can cause cracking. Our installers use a very thin epoxy injector in order to make sure these key areas are well supported. The installation process can take anywhere from two hours to a full day. The process is always time well spent.
