John Baltzegar III was born and raised in Norway, SC. He is the company's founder, majority owner, and sales/marketing manager. John has almost 30 years experience in the stone industry. John has a talent for bringing creative people together and encouraging their talents. John has worked in all aspects of the business, but he enjoys selling the most. He can still be found driving long distances several times a week making sales presentations just as he did in the 80's. John loves to spend weekends offshore fishing with his sons and co workers. Barbara Williams, originally from Western NY, has been a resident of the Hilton Head / Bluffton area for 38 years. Barbara began working in the industry with her dad's tile business 30 years ago. She has been with StoneWorks 12 years. Barbara is our senior tile and stone consultant. She has earned much respect from her customers and peers through the years due to her strong attention to detail and vast knowledge of stone and tile products. Charles Arriola is in his 11th year at StoneWorks. He has made the low country his home for the last 26 years. Charles has previous experience in the construction industry that has proven to be beneficial to the tile and stone industry. Charles has distinguished himself as Top Salesperson for several years and continues to enjoy assisting clients in all aspects of their projects. He has thoroughly enjoyed serving on StoneWorks's Annual Oyster Roast Committee for the past four years. He also serves as a board member for the GA/SC Coastal Chapter of NKBA. When not working, Charles likes to spend time with his wife, Dana, and son, Jordan. Charles enjoys all competitive sports, offshore fishing, and chess. Sadie Hanson is a South Carolina native. She has lived in the lowcountry for 27 years. For 15 of those years, she has worked within the tile and stone industry. Sadie is a self professed "tile nerd." She has an extremely loyal customer following due to her industry knowledge and friendly manner. She joined StoneWorks in 2008 and has proven to be an excellent addition to the team. John Baltzegar IV is 36 years old. He has a unique background, being that he is considerably young to have spent 20 years in the stone business. John is an artist of all mediums - painting, sculpture, wood, metal, and stone craft. At only 16 years old, his natural talents proved to be extremely helpful in the fabrication shop and in the field. Like many artists, John likes to do things differently. Many of StoneWorks's seemingly peculiar, yet sound methods for installation and fabrication were pioneered by John. He currently works in the digital template department. Joel Zak moved to the lowcountry from Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has 16 years of experience in the granite industry. Joel has spent time working in all phases of the operation including CNC operation and programming, CAD design, digital templating, and sales. Caroline Baltzegar, our accounting manager, is from Cartersville, Georgia. She has lived in the lowcountry with her husband, John, for the past 13 years. Caroline has spent over 20 years managing the accounting offices of large car dealerships in North Georgia. She is an active member and leader of her church on Hilton Head. Kelly Young has lived in the lowcountry for the last 8 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Georgia Southern University. She has been a sales representative at StoneWorks for the past six years. Prior to StoneWorks, Kelly spent eleven years as an outside sales representative in the wholesale building products industry. Shannon Baltzegar Urriola is originally from North Augusta, SC. She has been with StoneWorks since 1997. She began by working in the cast stone operation. Shannon was involved in mixing sand / mortar and bossing around the boys. Soon after, she settled into the accounting office, where she spent over ten years as the company's financial controller. Shannon is excited and ambitious about her role as the newest member of the sales team. This photo was taken after her very first countertop sale. Congratulations, Shannon! Kim Thorn has been with StoneWorks since 2008. She has seven years of experience in the stone industry. Kim lived all over the country ( NY, CT, NJ, NC, and Atlanta) before finally settling down in Hilton Head 24 years ago. She holds a BA degree in Interior Design from the American College for the Applied Arts in Atlanta. Kim enjoys spending time with her two kids, Alyssa and Alec. Brian Baltzegar is from North Augusta, SC. He holds a Bachelors degree in business management from the University of South Carolina. Between StoneWorks and other fabrication shops in Columbia, SC , Brian has 14 years in the stone business. He currently works as the fabrication shop manager. Alan Pennypacker is originally from Thurmont, Maryland. Alan and his wife, Teena, moved to the lowcountry seven years ago. Alan's past experience includes working for the federal government and Westinghouse. He has been with StoneWorks for five years as warehouse manager and also acts as head of purchasing. Alan loves to be there when someone needs help, whether for work or personal matters. Alan is always someone that can be counted on. Alan volunteers his personal time to organize StoneWorks's charities and Christmas parades. When he's not working, he may be found bowling, RVing, boating, or relaxing at CoCo's by the beach. Daniela Ortega handles accounts payable in the Bluffton accounting office. She was previously living in Los Angeles, CA. Daniela has almost completed her first year with StoneWorks. Rob Cavano handles StoneWorks's production schedule as well as management of the installation crews. Rob has been with StoneWorks for seven years. He is a graduate of Siena college in NY with a background in finance. Rob has served on the Oyster Roast Committee for the past four years.
