The Template Process

Before the template is scheduled, there are a handful of items to be completed.

Homeowner/Builder Checklist:

  • Granite chosen, quote accepted with 50% deposit.
  • Sink(s) delivered to our warehouse.
  • Hole locations for faucets, hot water, water filter and soap dispenser given to salesperson.
  • Old countertops removed by outside contractor (remodel) or cabinets installed.
  • Coordinate with other subcontractors.

StoneWorks will:

  • Schedule a time for our template staff to come to your house with templates.
  • Schedule a time for your layout at StoneWorks.
  • Schedule a time for installation.

Our actual template process is very interesting to see. Gone are the days of wooden stick templates or cardboard. A large sprinter van with the StoneWorks logo will arrive at your home. Inside the van exists a digital template office, complete with a Proliner digital templating device, laptop computer, and a large sign maker type printer. The templater will use his Proliner device to digitally register points on your cabinets, walls, and appliances. He will then return to the van in order to make CAD alterations and print onto mylar plastic sheets. The mylar templates are brought back into the house for final checking and customer approval. This gives the customer a chance to see the actual shapes exactly as they will be cut. If a corner needs a larger radius or a seam needs to be shifted, here is the chance to alter it.

They did a great job!

“My husband has dealt with Stoneworks for years in his business, and I have always had a respect for Wade and his team. Not until recently did I get to see them in action on my home. Sadie helped me select granite, tile and Caesarstone for our new home. I was able to watch the template process and installation. They were professional, efficient, met deadlines, and did not leave behind a mess. Charles gave me details about my selections that I would have never known. They did a great job!”
